Where did it all begin?
After spending the first 17 years of my working life working within the building industry, we installed our first Intruder Alarm System in 1991 following the formation of Select Security Systems by the current owner Ian 
C. Dibbs, this was at a time when alarm panels were still very basic in their design & operation.
Things evolved slowly over the next two years until we had the idea of approaching a number of building developers throughout the South of England and offering to cable their new build properties for Intruder Alarms, which after completion could prove difficult to cable due to construction methods being used at that time such as T&G chipboard floors and plasterboard laminated walls.
The follow up was greatly underestimated, and within a few months we were cabling for Laing Homes, Persimmon Homes & Bellway Homes to name but a few.
Some developments were small, possibly only 10 – 20 houses, whereas others in Central London reached 200 – 300 apartments, following the cabling the alarms followed with us installing up to 10 systems per day on large developments.
In 1994 Select Security Systems became SSAIB (Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board) approved and have remained so until this day.
Our SSAIB approval now covers Intruder Alarms, CCTV & Access Control.
As the years passed, we began installing larger more complex systems within bespoke private residential homes in the most exclusive locations around London, this then called for our expansion into CCTV & Access Control as properties required higher levels of security.
Gradually we built up a number of contacts with a number of bespoke developers for whom we still contract today.
In addition to our Residential Installations we have undertaken a number of large Commercial Installations which include Intruder Alarm Systems with multiple independent areas that can be accessed individually and Access Control Systems which utilise both Proximity & Biometric Technologies.
The Future…
As time has passed a decision was made to make changes to enable the company to expand but still remain a family owned and operated business but also to enable us to provide a higher level of client care - so Gemini Security Solutions was formed at the end of 2016 as a new platform from which to develop and expand the business to provide the highest levels of service & knowhow.
During the coming years we will continue operating within the new build sector of the construction industry, both residential and commercial – No Job is to Large!
In addition we will continue to provide our installation expertise to Private Domestic & Business Clients requiring professionally installed Security Systems.
