What Is a Wireless Alarm System?
As the name suggests a wireless alarm system is a system that communicates wirelessly and requires very little cable installation, which can be of huge benefit in a property which is practically impossible to cable due to structural and decorative constraints.
Our Wireless Alarm System
Before we set up an alarm system we always make sure to survey the property first and make sure that we offer you the best wireless alarm system for you. The wireless system that we use a lot is Texecom's new RICOCHET mesh networking wireless technology, which delivers more performance than any other wireless alarm system. Here are some benefits of the RICOCHET mesh networking wireless technology:
- Enhanced Performance - RICOCHET mesh networking wireless technology delivers more performance than any other wireless alarm system.
- Extending Size, Scalability, And Range - Wireless signalling is no longer limited by point-to-point communications, allowing for extended size, scalability, and range of the system.
- Greater Range - The range of a RICOCHET-enabled wireless alarm system surpasses previous systems, with multiple devices capable of relaying messages to and from even the most remote locations in a building.
- Integrated Signalling - Each RICOChet-enabled device provides signalling routes to and from Texecom Premier Control Panels.
- Self-Healing Network - If the wireless connection between two devices weakens, the network will 'self-heal' by automatically re-routing communications via alternative RICOCHET-enabled devices.
- Increased Reliability with More Devices - Installing more RICOCHET-enabled devices enhances the system's overall reliability.
Overall the RICOCHET system allows for a more flexible wireless alarm system than the other options on the market.
Considerations for Wireless Alarm Systems:
One-size-does not all, a wireless alarm system is a great choice to keep your house or business secure, however, like other systems there are some things to take into consideration before you invest:
- Structural and Decorative Constraints - The construction and layout of a property may still affect signal transmission and should be evaluated during the initial survey.
- Signal Transmission - RICOCHET technology improves performance with mesh networking, extending range and reliability beyond traditional systems.
- Maintenance Costs - Wireless devices rely on batteries, which will need periodic replacement, potentially increasing maintenance costs over time.
- Network Reliability - Reliability improves with more devices installed, which could increase initial costs.
- System Complexity - Advanced systems like RICOCHET require thorough planning and expertise for optimal installation and configuration, which may increase upfront setup costs.
- Interference - While mesh networks are more robust, wireless systems can be susceptible to interference from other devices or environmental factors, though RICOCHET's mesh technology mitigates these risks effectively.
Benefits of a Wireless Alarm System
Easy Installation
Wireless alarm systems eliminate the need for extensive wiring, making installation quick and hassle-free. With no need to drill holes or run wire through walls, you can have your security system up and running in no time.
Flexibility and Portability
Because wireless alarm systems are not tied down by wires, they offer greater flexibility in terms of placement and configuration. If you move to a new home or office, you can easily take the system with you and set it up in your new location.
Remote Access and Control
Modern Wireless alarm systems often come with mobile apps that allow you to monitor and control your security system from anywhere in the world. Whether you're on vacation or at work, you can receive real-time alerts, arm or disarm the system and even view live video feeds from your smartphone or tablet.
